Dear Blak Women, how effortlessly you carry that burden. Walking in a world that tells you you’re lazy, angry, good for nothing and less beautiful than white women. Working ten times as hard in your work space to be valued. At times, having to take on the responsibility of motherhood without the fathers. Blak women I’ve watched you become responsible far quicker than most because of the expectations on you. Leaders within your families. Caring for every member of your community through many means, often giving your time, your energy to the people you love most. I’ve seen you hurt & cry when the world made you feel small just because of the colour of your skin, or the shape of your body. You are so much more than that though. Because the world may not see your fight but I do. Your strength cannot be match. Your resilience cannot be conquered. You are the link between Mother earth and people. You matter. And I love you ❤️
